There are hotels—and then there are experiences. The Waldorf Astoria Shanghai on the Bund delivered both.
From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in a sense of timeless sophistication. The hotel beautifully blends historic charm with modern luxury, especially in the older, restored wing—a stunning nod to Shanghai’s past. Our room was refined and elegant, with panoramic views of the glittering skyline. At night, we watched the buildings light up across the river—an unforgettable backdrop to unwind.
The location couldn’t have been more perfect. Situated along the Huangpu River on the iconic Bund, the hotel placed us steps from world-class restaurants and vibrant nightlife, yet felt like a peaceful retreat at the end of the day.
Each morning began with a semi-buffet breakfast that balanced indulgence and freshness. We especially enjoyed the fresh-squeezed juices and carefully curated offerings—a perfect start to a day of exploring (or relaxing).
One of the highlights? The indoor pool. Beautifully designed and bathed in natural light, it offered a quiet space to recharge and reflect—something we value deeply on any trip focused on wellness and rejuvenation.
What truly elevated our stay was the service. Every interaction—from check-in to restaurant recommendations—was marked by warmth, attention to detail, and the kind of hospitality that stays with you long after you leave.
