Tambo del Inka Resort & Spa: A Luxurious Sanctuary in the Sacred Valley
From the moment we arrived at Tambo del Inka Resort & Spa, there was a sense of ease that set the tone for the entire stay. The resort feels thoughtfully designed to slow you down while quietly anticipatin.g what you may need next. Over the course of four nights, that first impression held true again and again
A Setting Designed for Presence
The property itself invites exploration without effort. There are peaceful walking paths throughout the grounds, and toward the back of the resort, the views open to the Urubamba River, grounding the experience in nature. Families will appreciate the expansive open field adjacent to a small playground, offering plenty of room for children to run, play, and enjoy the outdoors in a safe, relaxed setting.
Inside the lobby, local craftsmanship is on display through curated artisan goods, adding a sense of place and cultural connection. A particularly memorable touch is the friendly llama on property, who can be fed and petted, delighting guests of all ages and reinforcing the resort’s warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Service That Feels Genuine
What truly elevates the experience at Tambo del Inka is the people. The staff are consistently kind, gracious, and warm, with a natural ability to anticipate needs without ever feeling intrusive. Whether interacting with the front desk, restaurant staff, or spa therapists, the service felt sincere and attentive in the best way, creating a sense of being genuinely cared for throughout the stay.
Wellness Without Crowds
The wellness facilities are well designed and easy to access. The gym, while modest in size, is well equipped for both strength and cardio workouts. I used it daily, and it consistently met my needs. It was also never crowded, which made it easy to maintain a routine even while traveling.
The spa is exquisite and deeply relaxing, especially after a full day of exploring the Sacred Valley. The therapists are knowledgeable and attentive, and the atmosphere encourages true restoration. From the moment you step inside, the pace shifts, and it becomes clear that wellness here is meant to be both accessible and unhurried.
Dining That Brings People Together
Dining at the resort was a highlight, particularly at Hawa, which serves both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast is abundant, offering a wide variety of sweet and savory options, including gluten-free choices, along with a menu for made-to-order items such as omelets and French toast. One standout that quickly became a favorite was the pan de chicharrón, a traditional pork and sweet potato sandwich that is not to be missed.
Dinner at Hawa reflects a thoughtful balance of authentic Peruvian dishes and globally inspired options, ensuring something for every palate. The staff are gracious and warm, enhancing the overall dining experience.
One of the most memorable evenings was a hands-on culinary experience making personalized pizzas in the large brick oven on property. The chefs were wonderful, guiding us through the process and helping tailor each pizza to individual tastes. It was relaxed, interactive, and unexpectedly special, one of those moments that stays with you long after the trip ends.
A Stay That Lingers
After four nights at Tambo del Inka, what stands out most is how effortlessly luxurious the experience felt. The rooms, the food, the wellness offerings, and the setting all work together seamlessly, but it is the people and the pace that make the stay truly exceptional.
This is a place where you can be active without feeling rushed, indulge without excess, and rest without distraction. It is a resort that allows you to be fully present, and that, ultimately, is what makes the experience so memorable.
